Here at ABAI, we understand Corporate Social Responsibility to be an organisation’s voluntary commitment to responsibility and awareness of their impact on the environment around them and the society they are part of.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

ABAI has held ISO 14001:2015 “Environmental Management Systems” certification since 2020, and we also hold to various environmental policies like the Code of Environmental Good Practice and the Environmental Emergency Plan, which makes us a sustainable and environmentally friendly business.

In order to reduce our environmental footprint, we take various steps to try and minimise our impact on the environment, even if that impact is small:

  • Steady reduction in paper use and digitisation to become paper free.
  • Our electricity is mostly from sustainable sources, and we have installed LED lights in all workplaces to improve energy efficiency.
  • We promote the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
  • We have different containers for different types of waste, as well as having licenced suppliers and partners to make sure this waste is correctly managed and disposed of.
  • To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we are committed to reducing air travel and not using company vehicles, choosing to hold meetings online instead.
  • We have set up an Environmental Awareness programme for employees.

At ABAI, we are always striving for excellence in human resource management, knowing that this has a direct impact on our business, given that success is not just about sales, but also about having a happy, healthy team.

We make sure our employees can disconnect from their devices and we are committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance, encouraging both parents to share the responsibilities of bringing up their children. 

As a strategic principle of Corporate Policy and Human Resources at ABAI, we have put in place measures like the Equality Plan, which promotes equal professional development for men and women and works against discrimination based on personal and social circumstances.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

We provide internal and external training programmes and talent management to develop every employee’s professional career and ensure they are able to learn the skills they need, both from a business point of view as well as for the services they provide and communication skills.

At ABAI, we seek to support the holistic development of the communities we work in, establishing environmentally friendly processes, generating jobs and promoting training and development without neglecting the continued growth of the business.

One of ABAI’s social projects involves donating Christmas hampers to foodbanks and donating second-hand furniture and computers to NGOs.

COMMITMENT TO HUMAN RIGHTS

At ABAI, we have established a Code of Conduct and Ethics that applies to all members of the organisation as well as stakeholders. The aim is to bring together the ethical principles that inform the way everyone working with ABAI should behave, like complying with the law, protecting human rights, civil liberties, equal opportunities, non-discrimination and valuing all cultures, among other things.

COMMITMENT TO THE UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT

Since October 2021, we have been part of the leading corporate sustainability initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, with the aim of making our company fairer and more sustainable.

By joining this initiative, we are committing to keeping our corporate strategies and operations linked to the Global Compact’s Ten Principles, as well as taking innovative steps towards achieving United Nations initiatives like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDO) from the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement.
